Roman Reigns tops major WWE list following SummerSlam return

Roman Reigns’ blockbuster return to WWE programming in the main event of SummerSlam last Saturday has racked up impressive numbers for the Stamford-based company on social media and in terms of merchandise sales, too. The Tribal Chief showed up during the Universal Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa.

The Head of The Table had been absent from WWE television following his loss to The American Nightmare at WrestleMania XL. In the meantime, Solo Sikoa recruited new members to The Bloodline and took over the leadership responsibility. The former Enforcer even fired shots at Reigns and declared himself the new Tribal Chief.

When it looked like Solo Sikoa would win The Bloodline Rules match to become the new champion, Roman Reigns’ music hit to send the Cleveland crowd into a frenzy. He leveled Solo with a Superman Punch, followed by a Spear. It allowed Cody Rhodes to put his opponent away with the Cross Rhodes and retain his title.

The former Shield member’s highly-anticipated return to action accumulated millions of views and generated massive revenue within no time. According to a post shared by WrestleSeek on X (fka Twitter), Roman Reigns tops the Merchandise Sales list for August 6, followed by CM Punk and Jey Uso in the second and third spots, respectively.

Wrestling veteran believes Roman Reigns will suffer a massive betrayal from his ally following WWE return

Amid Roman Reigns’ absence from WWE television, Solo Sikoa brutally attacked old Bloodline members Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman. Many predicted that The Original Tribal Chief would return at SummerSlam alongside his Wiseman. However, it did not happen.

While speaking on the Gigantic Pop podcast, wrestling veteran Matt Morgan predicted that Paul Heyman would return to betray Reigns to side with Solo Sikoa despite getting viciously attacked by the latter for not acknowledging him as The Tribal Chief.

“I still think this is way in the distance, hopefully. I do think [Paul Heyman] comes back and I do think he sides with Solo in them. Listen to me, I know they just pulverized him recently. I get that. That’s why it’s gonna take some time to get there. But, he can’t be a babyface manager. Doesn’t work. Think about it, what a big betrayal to Roman!” Matt Morgan said. [From 43:58 to 44:27]

Paul Heyman has yet to appear on WWE television after being taken out by The Bloodline on the June 28 edition of SmackDown. It remains to be seen when The Wiseman will return to the blue brand.
