House of the Dragon Season 2 | EPISODE 8 ‘Season Finale’ PROMO TRAILER | Max

In House of the Dragon season 2, episode 6, Alys Rivers makes a subtle reference to Bran Stark’s pivotal scene in Game of Thrones. This could establish House Targaryen’s association with the Three-Eyed Raven in the show’s canon. Alys Rivers’s mystery character is starting to remind us more and more like Bran Stark from the final few seasons of Game of Thrones as she takes on a more active part in Daemon’s vision-heavy Harrenhal plot. Alys provides House of the Dragon with an intriguing examination of the magic associated with the First Men and Old Gods, from her seemingly all-knowing nature to her repeated references to the potent weirwood trees.

When Daemon tries fleeing Harrenhal in House of the Dragon season 2, episode 6, Alys stops him and says that when something goes wrong, he always runs. She even mentions Daemon fleeing to the Stepstones, to Pentos, and then to Harrenhal – details she seemingly shouldn’t know as a healer in the Riverlands. Siting by the weirwood tree, Alys discusses a “living memory,” things much older than them, the two being pieces on a board instead of players, and that those who don’t want to rule are better suited for it. When puzzling her speech to Daemon together, it sounds quite like Bran’s Game of Thrones journey.
