CM Punk reveals he wouldn’t have left WWE if they managed themselves the way they do now

In a recent interview following his participation at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, CM Punk revealed that he wouldn’t have left WWE more than ten years ago if the atmosphere in the company had been like it is today.

CM Punk is close to returning to action after announcing that he has been medically cleared during WWE RAW (July 22, 2024). The first battle of the war against Drew McIntyre will take place at SummerSlam: Cleveland and in this way, it will mark his second official one in this second stage in WWE .

“The Best In The World” has found comfort in his return home, showing enormous enthusiasm to remain with the company, connecting with young talent and playing an important role despite his physical condition and the injury that he dragged around for practically the entire year. In addition, CM Punk has been a great ambassador for WWE and therefore, he had the opportunity to appear at the WWE Mattel Panel during San Diego Comic-Con 2024 , an event in which Denise Salcedo took the opportunity to speak with the Chicago native backstage.

The interviewer took the opportunity to ask CM Punk about his physical and mental state before returning to compete individually on WWE TV, to which the superstar declared himself ready and 100 percent ready for SummerSlam . But she also had the opportunity to question him about the moment in which he thought of returning to WWE. The WWE Universe knows that Punk left ten years ago due to problems in his creative management, and he mentioned that he would never have left if the company was run as it is currently:

“Honestly, if WWE was the place it is today back then, I would have never left. All the things that happened, all the arguments and all the stress, the injuries and the exhaustion, and the feeling that people in a management role weren’t listening. That doesn’t exist in today’s atmosphere. I don’t want to waste time thinking, ‘Oh, I should have done this or I could have done this. ’ I think what makes my return so special is because of all the history, because of all the time that has passed. Now we’re here and it’s a happy moment for me.”

CM Punk ’s last official singles match in WWE was on Monday Night RAW (January 20, 2014), defeating Billy Gunn. 10.5 years later , “The Best In The World” will return to fight one-on-one in the company that saw him rise as a superstar, facing Drew McIntyre at WWE SummerSlam 2024. The wait is almost over and we’ll see if the five-time WWE World Champion is one hundred percent physically fit enough to convince fans that he is still one of “The Best in the World.”
