Erling Haaland parties with girlfriend Isabel Johansen and Anthony Joshua at a lavish New Year’s Eve bash in Dubai as Man City striker continues his recovery from a foot injury

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland enjoyed a glitzy New Year’s eve party in Dubai as he partied with his girlfriend and heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua.

Haaland – who is still recovering from a foot injury – was one of the leading Premier League stars enjoying parties on New Year’s Eve as he posed in a group photo during celebrations.

He was seen smiling in the picture alongside his girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen and a friend late into the night after the clock had struck midnight in the country.

Later on he was seen standing alongside British fighter Joshua at the event, which was hosted by the founder of fashion brand Pretty Little Thing Umar Kamani, with AJ’s fellow boxer and friend Derek Chisora also in attendance.

Haaland knows Kamani well, having also travelled to his mansion in Dubai last year while the Qatar World Cup was ongoing.

Haaland and girlfriend Johansen have reportedly been dating since the player’s days at Borussia Dortmund after meeting while both were youth players at Bryne FK, according to the Sun.

Johansen has also been a big presence at Haaland’s games, travelling to Istanbul to watch his Man City side beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the Champions League final last year and sitting alongside his father Alf-Inge in the stands.

The Norwegian forward will be hoping to get back to full fitness after suffering a foot injury – his last appearance coming in a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on December 6.

He travelled with the City squad to Saudi Arabia for the Club World Cup, which they won after a 4-0 win over Fluminense in the final, but he did not feature.

The 23-year-old was also not involved in the matchday squad that beat Sheffield United 2-0 on Saturday, with his manager Pep Guardiola revealing he hadn’t trained but hoped to have him back in January.

‘Still, he’s not with the team,’ Guardiola told Amazon Prime. ‘He feels better with his bone [in his foot] but he hasn’t had one training session with us.

‘Unfortunately, December is so congested with so many games. January is a bit less congested. Hopefully, in January, he can come back with us.’

Joshua meanwhile has been enjoying some downtime after beating Otto Wallin in Saudi Arabia on December 23.

The British star, 34, celebrated his victory with fellow boxing icons Tony Bellew and Chisora after the fight, which ensured he got his career back on track.

He has since been spotted in Dubai, getting his haircut at the Sharp Scissors Salon before partying with Haaland and Co.

‘It is always our pleasure to have our friend @anthonyjoshua,’ they posted on Instagram.

Joshua’s next opponent remains unclear. He had been expected to fight Deontay Wilder before the Bronze Bomber suffered a shock defeat by Joseph Parker.

Promoter Eddie Hearn said: ‘We had signed the Wilder contract. It was going to be announced tonight, but that’s boxing. It’s one that we believed we would win and if anyone was going to beat him, I was pleased it was Joe.

‘He [Wilder] looked terribly out of sorts. I didn’t really give him a round. Even when the referee was reading the decision, he was raising his hands as if he might get the decision!

‘It was a strange performance, but we can only take care of what we do and obviously Anthony tonight put in a performance to put the heavyweight divison on notice.’
