The swanky Atlantis, The Palm hotel in Dubai is not letting the coronavirus pandemic stand in the way of a five-star service
The resort says that thermal cameras have been placed at all entry points to detect guests with high temperatures and that hand sanitiser dispensers are placed throughout the resort.
All rooms are socially distanced, with occupied rooms separated by vacant ones.
And social distancing continues on the beach, with chairs and loungers placed at a distance of two metres and a minimum distance of four metres kept between groups of guests.

The hotel says that guests can enjoy the beach with a party size of up to a maximum of five people and swim without a mask – but at all other times a mask must be worn.
The same goes for staff members.
In the restaurants diners are kept a minimum of two metres from each other and single-use disposable menus are being used.
Tableside cooking and garnishing is off the menu, meanwhile – and so are buffets.
Alcohol is available, but only at restaurant tables.

The hotel previously paid a lot of attention to cleaning – now though, it’s efforts have been seriously ramped up.
It says that the frequency of air filter replacement has been increased, ‘all luggage and rooms are fogged and undergo intensive sanitisation upon guest departure’, and recreational and sports equipment is sanitised after each use, along with beach loungers, life jackets, towel desks and cabanas.
Not everything is open, however. All pools and bars, Atlantis Aquaventure, marine animal interactions, various food and beverage outlets and all waterpark restaurants are temporarily shut.
The FCO currently advises British nationals against all but essential international travel.
