The Childhood Home of Bella and Gigi Hadid Is Up for Sale

There are plenty of ostentatious celebrity mansions available these days, but it’s uncommon to find a famous person’s childhood home for sale, which lends an unquestionable sentimental element to the entire process. This is your chance to live in the home that influenced the formative years of supermodels extraordinaire: The childhood home of Bella and Gigi Hadid is up for sale. All it takes to secure it is an impressive $8.9 million.

The property, at 2347 East Valley Road in Montecito, California (yes, yet another Montecito mansion), boasts 7,000 square feet of perks: an outdoor fireplace; soaring ceilings with wooden beams; five well-appointed bedrooms; a pool/spa/cabana combo; and a chef’s kitchen outfitted with all the latest and greatest appliances. Visually, it evokes a seaside abode in Positano, Italy—featuring bougainvillea-covered courtyard walls, airy rooms, and stone floors. Oh, and there’s a charming stucco patio that we’d never leave if we lived there.

It’s simple to see little Gigi, Bella, and Anwar playing around the property as children—taking in movies in the media/game room, spending afternoons by the lovely pool (which has a slide! ), or smuggling snacks through the elaborately carved wood pantry doors. Stars are people just like the rest of us.

In 2019, the Hadid sisters’ mother, Yolanda Hadid, posted a wistful throwback from a 2004 Santa Barbara Magazine photoshoot she took in the house. She reflected on how she chose the home, emphasizing its role in grounding their family: “We’re about dusty riding clothes and muddy boots, not dressing up. Formality and having things on a grand scale was our old life in Los Angeles. This home and keeping things in perspective is our new life here.”

So many elements of this star-studded domicile, built in 1990, have remained the same as they were when the Hadids first moved in—like the moody-yet-inviting family room off the kitchen. But it also incorporates other design trends. Cases in point: green built-in shelving, rustic light fixtures, and vibrant outdoor fabrics.

If you’re already feeling devoted to this Montecito house (whose listing is held by the Grubb Campbell Group), you should know that we are as well. But our mutual level of devotion is nothing compared to that of Anwar Hadid—the actor/producer literally has a tattoo of “2347 E. Valley Rd.” on his hand.

The address clearly means a lot to him, and now it can mean a lot to you, too.
