Jennifer Lawrence Looks Cool in Jelly Flats and Red-Hot Parachute Pants

Teaching us all how to beat the heat in style

Jennifer Lawrence kept herself looking cool during the New York City heatwave.

As temperatures rose to 94 degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday, the actor stepped out for a stroll with her son Cy and husband Cooke Maroney. Opting for breezy layers, she wore a slightly oversized white tee and bright red parachute pants. A drawstring waist held up the loose nylon bottoms, which fluttered in the wind as Lawrence walked along the waterfront.

While the actor has remained loyal to her mesh Alaïa flats—which she owns in multiple colors and has worn several times this year and last—she traded out the footwear for a fun, equally breathable choice from The Row.

Dubbed the Mara flat, the red fishnet jelly shoes effortlessly matched Lawrence’s pants, and undoubtedly offered some relief from the heat. Given JLaw’s passion for her mesh Alaïa flats, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her wearing other colors of the sold-out jelly style (which retails for a cool $890).

As Maroney pushed around their toddler in a stroller, Lawrence carried a large black tote and shaded her eyes with a pair of black oval-shaped sunglasses. She capped off her look (literally) with a floppy black sun hat, which kept her cool and looking incognito. For the laid back occasion, she tied her long blonde hair into a low ponytail and went makeup-free.

Maroney matched his wife’s energy with a pair of tan pants, a black tee, and his signature black Vans sneakers. He accessorized sparingly with a pair of black square-shaped sunglasses and a silver wristwatch. Together, they looked like a true New York City family trying to beat the heat.
