Fans call WWE RAW’s Netflix premiere a ‘joke’ after Triple H promotes match card for the show

With just three days to go, WWE RAW’s Netflix premiere has been heavily promoted on social media. However, Triple H’s most recent post received negative backlash from fans over the show’s match card.

The hype around WWE RAW’s move to Netflix has been building since the announcement in January 2024. For the last few months, multiple matches and stars have been promoted for the PLE-level show on January 6, 2025.

Unfortunately, the most recent promotional material for WWE’s first RAW of the New Year didn’t receive the fanfare the company wanted.

Fans unhappy with the matches on WWE RAW’s Netflix debut

Triple H took to his official X account to promote the four matches announced for the debut show. These include CM Punk vs Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns vs Solo Sikoa, Jey Uso vs Drew McIntyre and Rhea Ripley vs Liv Morgan.

However, fans were unhappy with the lack of female matches on the show. While there could be more female matches on the show that have not been promoted, fans had something to say.

One fan wrote: “Only 1 women’s match, dropping the Women’s IC Final from this Monday, such a joke.” Fans expected the final match for the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental title to be on the show.

Another fan wrote: “No Women’s IC title match?! Bianca is advertised, but she ain’t booked?! Papa H, c’mon now!” Fans are hopeful that the show will have some surprise women’s matches.

Another fan wrote: “Hope this Liv vs Ripley feud match will be the end of it already and move on afterwards.” Many fans have voiced their desire for this feud to end.

Another fan wrote: “Everyone knows the IC finals would be better than that stupid Liv vs Rhea fight.” Fans were surprised that the match was not promoted for the show.

Big changes made to WWE RAW ahead of Netflix debut

Lilian Garcia, who replaced Samantha Irvin in October 2024, has been the announcer for RAW. However, she has been moved to SmackDown, with Alicia Taylor taking her place on RAW for Netflix.

Both RAW and SmackDown have been shifted to a three-hour format. Both brands have used a two-hour format for the past few months. This will allow more superstars to be seen on screen with even more storylines.

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee have been scheduled to reprise their RAW commentary duties. For the past few months, Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore have been on the commentary team for RAW, while Cole has assisted Cory Graves on SmackDown.
