Seth Rollins appears to close out the event by talking about next week’s match against CM Punk, calling it the biggest feud in the sport, which has been brewing for a decade. Seth confidently proclaims that after next Monday, everyone will know where to find him: right there on Monday Night RAW, fighting week in and week out because that’s what he does. Turning his attention to CM Punk, Seth wonders if Punk can say the same. He wonders aloud if Punk will cry and complain if things don’t go his way. “Is he going to take another ten years off, take his ball and go home again?” Seth asks wryly.
CM Punk appears as soon as he hears the last sentence, and he doesn’t take long to respond. The Chicagoan enters the ring repeating Seth’s words about “taking his ball and going home,” as that is one of the most cliché insults in the world. “Who’s the one that tried to turn the boys against everyone? Did Steve Austin take his ball and go home? Did The Man take his ball and go home?” CM Punk asks, referring to the absence of Seth Rollins’ wife, Becky Lynch .
Punk points out that Seth may paint him as someone who abandoned the fans, when in reality, Rollins feels like they abandoned him. Shifting the focus to the present, Punk asks Seth about the toll the past ten months have taken on him: “How’s your neck? Your knee? How’s your insides after Bronson Reed hit you with six Tsunamis? How’s your pride since you didn’t get revenge when I broke your ankle?” CM Punk mocks Seth’s claim to be the best in the world, calling him a “little brother,” and frames next week as the biggest money game, which is what he came back to WWE to do, not make friends.
Rollins defends those who left for their family, like his wife who took time off to raise their daughter, something Punk has no idea about. Seth rejects Punk’s excuses, accusing him of seeking to bring down WWE while he was away: “You went on your friend’s podcast, took pictures, and took a big payday to join the competition (AEW). How did that go for you?” Seth calls himself the one who stayed and fought in the trenches, because revolutions are made by being present, unlike Punk, who he calls a coward. He swears Punk won’t leave for ten years, because it will be Seth who makes that decision for him.
Punk smirks, stating that pioneers are recognized by the arrows in their backs and tells Rollins that he wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for him. CM Punk insists that he didn’t hate WWE, just the man who ran it, and reminds Seth of his own betrayals, such as stabbing Roman Reigns in the back. The Chicagoan mocks Seth’s current persona, joking about his attire; he further explains that he left because he had to, running away until the arrows couldn’t reach him and mocks how they chanted his name for seven years, mostly at the now “Visionary’s” matches. CM Punk promises to take those arrows that should have finished him and shove them down Seth’s corporate throat.
Seth Rollins, in all seriousness, ends by expressing the following to close the last confrontation with CM Punk before facing off on the premiere of WWE RAW on Netflix: «Maybe at one time you were a pioneer, but now you are nothing but a cancer. A cancer to that locker room, a cancer in my brain and a cancer to this business. And cancer doesn’t cure itself. The only way to get rid of it is to cut it out. I promise to bring all my rage and all the fire to the fight because I promise I will burn you to the ground.»
