The Housemaid, a thriller, has cast Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried. Paul Feig, who helmed Bridesmaids, A Simple Favor, and the forthcoming A Simple Favor sequel, is directing the film. Seyfried’s most recent endeavors include her starring roles in the Hulu series The Dropout and the Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room, while Sweeney most recently acted in the romance comedy Anyone But You, Sony’s Madame Web, and the horror film Immaculate.

As per Lionsgate, Sweeney and Feig have finalized their deals for The Housemaid and Seyfried is in the final stages of negotiations. Sweeney will play Millie, a young woman who is a recently hired housemaid looking for a new beginning. Seyfried plays Nina, who, along with her wealthy husband, Andrew, have dangerous secrets. Rebecca Sonnenshine is writing the script that adapts the bestselling novel by Freida McFadden.
