After another year of inactivity in 2024, Conor McGregor has dropped a hint that his return to combat sports could be imminent as he has posted five minutes of new training footage.
The combat sports world has been without Conor McGregor for over three years now having suffered a broken ankle in his last fight against Dustin Poirier in 2021.
Despite that, the Irishman recently revealed that he is in talks to fight Logan Paul in the boxing ring after being offered the fight by an Indian businessman.

Although ‘The Notorious’ revealed he will likely fight ‘The Maverick’ next with the UFC‘s backing, it has since been reported that a fight against Jake Paul is also on the table.
Since then, though, the 36-year-old has shared five minutes of new training footage, of him and his training partner going through the grappling motions.
Fans were surprised to see the former UFC double-champion practicing his submission game considering the recent revelation of his likely return to the boxing ring.
Halfway through their five-minute session, McGregor caught his training partner in a guillotine which resulted in a tap from his partner.
Concerningly, though, after just over two minutes of training, McGregor lay on the floor, visibly tired from the action.
After a brief break, the two continued their session which led to the Irishman securing an outside trip and controlling his training partner in full mount.
McGregor then locked up a reverse bulldog choke, causing another tap from his training partner. Fans questioned the credentials of his training partner, however, he was likely just going through the motions with a clearly huge McGregor.
Fans react to the training footage shared by Conor McGregor
Training footage has the power to either make a fighter look like a world-beater or do the complete opposite and make a fighter look like they’re new to everything.
With everything McGregor does, the new footage has come with a lot of criticism from the UFC fanbase, with many fans believing that he will never step back into the Octagon.
“Bro, are you ever fighting in the UFC again?” one fan asked.
However, one fan was more certain that he won’t be fighting in the UFC again, commenting: “Conor isn’t fighting in the Octagon again.”
Despite the criticism, one fan was more supportive of the former UFC double champ, claiming that the 36-year-old will realize success in the Octagon once again, saying: “Conor will be double champion again, mark my words!”
