Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would have ushered in Christmas with their two young children by following a sweet tradition.
It comes as the Duchess of Sus𝑠e𝑥 opened up about her love of the holiday season and spending time with Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
Meghan told outlet Marie Claire in a nod to the holiday festivities she puts out “carrots for the reindeer”.
Of spending the holidays as a family in California, she said: “At first, I think as a mom with children you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet. But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year.”
She also explained the importance of her children experiencing the “magic” of traditions such as “great recipes that they end up connecting to a formative memory”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sus𝑠e𝑥 chose to release a Christmas card this year which featured six photos – one of which included Archie and Lilibet running towards their parents as they greet them with out-stretched arms.
The last time the children were shown was in the couple’s 2022 Netflix docuseries ‘Harry & Meghan’, released in December 2022 — two years prior.
While it is understood this card is meant for professional use, the family has sent a separate, private card to their close friends and family which will not be shared publicly.
The Sus𝑠e𝑥es were thought to have spent Christmas in America along with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
The couple were not invited to Sandringham, where excited crowds watched on as the monarch and his wider family headed into St Mary Magdalene Church, Norfolk. The service took place hours before the King’s Christmas message aired later on Chrsitmas Day.
The King, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales were joined by the prince and princess’s three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

While Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah, the Duchess of York, did not attend the service, their daughter Princess Beatrice – accompanied by her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and his son Christopher Woolf, smiled as they made an appearance.
Prince Andrew’s absence was confirmed after Yang Tengbo, was named as being an alleged Chinese spy who had been banned from entering the UK.
His office said nothing sensitive had ever been discussed with Mr Yang, and the businessman has also denied all accusations made by the Home Office.
