Russell Wilson reveals his true colors in response to two brutal Pittsburgh Steelers plays.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were defeated by their division rival Baltimore Ravens with Russell Wilson having two brutal turnovers which effectively swung the game with the quarterback owning his mistakes

Russell Wilson has taken accountability for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens after he made two crushing mistakes in the game.

In the second-quarter, Wilson scrambled for a huge gain and looked to make Ravens defensive back Ar’Darius Washington miss in the open field, but the safety laid a big hit on the quarterback who fumbled the ball. Later in the game, Wilson had been under pressure from his blindside while escaping the pocket but throwing an ill-timed pass that had been intercepted by Marlon Humphrey – who returned it for a touchdown.

That score had effectively killed the game off for the Steelers, down three scores with less than five minutes left with Baltimore closing the game out.

Besides those two plays, Wilson had put in another strong performance for the Steelers while leading the offense capably with 217 yards and two touchdowns – doing so without several key players including star wide receiver George Pickens.

But the veteran quarterback acknowledged that the mistakes he made in the game cannot happen, telling reporters: “We kind of responded really well. We had a chance, even late in the game. The interception hurt us. It’s really two negative plays.

“They made two plays on us that were significant plays, and I can’t let that happen. I think that changed the game when they got that interception. I thought the defense did a good job of getting the ball back. But they made a play.”

The defeat to the Ravens dealt them a significant blow to their AFC North title hopes, with the Ravens now being level with them at a 10-5 record heading into the final two games of the season.

The Steelers’ final two games will be much tougher than Baltimore’s on paper though, with Wilson and company set to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day while riding a two-game losing streak after being defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles the week prior.

The Steelers look set to clinch a playoff berth even if they don’t win their division though, with their impressive record looking enough to gain a wildcard spot. However, they’re unlikely to be playing a home postseason game if they’re not able to win their division.
