The last property Marvel superhero creator Stan Lee ever purchased just got a price cut as it nears a sale.
Located in L.A.’s Bird Streets, the home is now listed for $8.3 million. It first hit the market at the end of September for $8.8 million.
Lee bought the property in 2014 for $4.4 million, property records show, however, he never lived there. The comic book writer, editor and publisher bought the home for his daughter, J.C. Lee, Selick said.
Known for his work with Marvel Comics—where he served as the creative leader for two decades—Lee co-created iconic superhero characters including Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, Black Panther and the Fantastic Four. He died in 2018 at 95 years old.
Paying homage to Lee and his work, there are three life-size Spider-Man statues in the home’s foyer. Though not explicitly included in the asking price, Selick said “everything’s negotiable.”
The single-story home spans about 5,200 square feet and sits on a half-acre lot, which Selick said is on the larger side for the area.
There are three bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms, including a primary suite featuring two walk-in closets, two bathrooms, a fireplace and a sauna.
Also inside is a den with a built-in bar and a fireplace; a formal living room; a large dining room; and a movie theater with seating for 10 and its own en-suite bathroom.
Outside, there’s a pool and spa with a cabana. On a raised part of the property, there’s an upper patio that looks down at the home, expanding the property’s outdoor entertaining space and even doubling as a stage for private entertainment.
“I’ve been told that several A-lister musicians have performed intimate concerts on that upper-level stage for parties,” Selick said.
