With Sylvester Stallone returning to his legendary role as John Rambo in what is being regarded as the franchise’s most powerful and emotional chapter to date, Rambo 6: New Blood has been unveiled. Production is scheduled to start in early 2025, according to Lionsgate, which has confirmed that the movie is in development.
This time, Rambo faces an entirely new challenge as he confronts his legacy and grapples with the idea of passing the torch. The film introduces a new character, a young protégé with a mysterious connection to Rambo’s past, played by The Boys breakout star Jack Quaid. The duo must team up to thwart a deadly international conspiracy involving mercenaries and corrupt government officials operating on U.S. soil.
Director Chad Stahelski (John Wick) is helming the project, promising a visceral and high-octane experience while delving deeper into Rambo’s psyche. “This movie is about legacy, redemption, and the price of violence,” Stahelski revealed in a recent interview. “We’re taking John Rambo back to his roots, but also into uncharted emotional territory.”
