Roman Reigns cannot articulate how he felt working with this Bloodline member.
Earlier this year before WrestleMania 40, Roman Reigns was involved in a heated rivalry with Cody Rhodes. While the two were scheduled to face each other at ‘Mania, the event also marked the return of The Rock.
Fans saw Reigns and Rock join forces to take on The American Nightmare. While Rhodes and Seth Rollins lost in a tag-team match against Reigns and The Rock on ‘Mania 40 Night 1, The American Nightmare was victorious the next night against Reigns.
Building up to ‘Mania, fans saw Roman Reigns and The Final Boss get close to each other and form a strong bond. Recently, during an interview with Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated, Reigns was asked about the gravity of him going against The Rock.
I never really looked at it like that. It was more so that situation where you zoom out and you see all these family members together. When you’re able to do that with someone from your family, with people from your Bloodline, there is just something about that.”
Speaking further, he reflected on how he felt working alongside his cousin during one of the promotion’s most important periods.
Maybe you can ask the Kelce brothers [Jason Kelce & Travis Kelce] or the Harbaughs [Jim Harbaugh & John Harbaugh], it’s this weird, sharing such a huge main event level moment with so many eyes on it, the whole world was watching, especially with the way we have it now.
I wasn’t even looking at him like ‘this is DJ [Dwayne Johnson],’ it was just me and another family member. I mean that with the utmost love and respect. It’s really hard to put into words how that can make a man feel and how proud I am to be able to attempt to articulate this. We’re very fortunate.”
Currently involved in a rivalry against Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline, The Rock’s recent return at Bad Blood sparked rumors of a future feud between The OTC and The Final Boss. However, there is nothing confirmed on Dwayne Johnson’s return timeline to the promotion.
CM Punk And Roman Reigns Prove Beneficial For WWE
At Survivor Series WarGames, fans witnessed a surprising collaboration between Reigns and CM Punk. While the two battled initial tensions between them, they later arrived on the same page and defeated Sikoa’s faction.
Soon after, Roman Reigns and CM Punk’s partnership proved beneficial and drew huge numbers for WWE. On the promotion’s Instagram page, the clip of Reigns blocking Punk’s entry into the match has already been seen more than 100 million times on the platform alone, with an additional 15 million views on TikTok. Punk barging past Reigns in the next entry slot has 31 million on Instagram and a further 7.8 million on TikTok.
Several other viral moments from the match involving the two have also gathered over several millions of views.
