Sophie Turner will play the legendary character of Lara Croft in Amazon Studios’ ambitious live-action remake of Tomb Raider, which was recently formally revealed. Turner’s casting, which combines grit, charm, and emotional depth to recreate the adventurer for a new generation, is a harbinger of a new path for the cherished brand. Turner is best known for her breakthrough performance as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones.

The series will reportedly delve into Croft’s early years, offering a deeper exploration of her transformation from an inquisitive archaeologist to a globe-trotting hero. The narrative is inspired by the Tomb Raider video game reboot trilogy, featuring both survivalist challenges and a focus on personal growth. Set across diverse locations, the show promises breathtaking landscapes, ancient puzzles, and intense action sequences.
