TNA Champion Wants John Cena or Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to Sign With Newly Reborn Company

During a backstage interview, it was revealed that TNA would be reverting to their original name TNA from Impact Wrestling. Treating it as a new birth instead of a rebranding, one TNA Champion wants WWE Superstars John Cena and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to sign with them.

One of WWE’s biggest rivals, Total Nonstop Action posted a video on their official YouTube channel titled Revealing the NEW TNA X-Division Championship. The video features current TNA X Division Champion and TNA veteran Chris Sabin speaking to the promotion’s president, Scott D’Amore.

During the backstage interview, Chris Sabin showed his excitement about the announcement. The company was formed in 2002 and was WWE’s biggest rival during the Ruthless Aggression and PG era. They featured superstars like Sting, AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Kurt Angle, Hulk Hogan, and Ric Flair. But later they rebranded to Impact Wrestling in 2017. He said, “The identity of Impact Wrestling has always been that it used to be TNA.”

While showing excitement for the renamed company he expressed his desire to have WWE legends like The Rock and John Cena onboard. He said, “Who do I want it to be? I would say I would want it to be The Rock or John Cena, right? But as far as who it could be, I’m not sure. I have no idea.”

Sabin further said, “There are a couple of guesses I can put out there, but I don’t want to put a guess out there and be right. So I’ll say I think it’s John Cena and The Rock and know it’s not,” Well, his statement was in response to the surprises fans can expect at their upcoming Hard to Kill PPV.

Though, Sabin has expressed his desire to have Cena and The Rock onboard, it seems that he’s resigned himself to the fate that it most probably won’t come true. But what are the chances?

Will TNA fans see Dwayne Johnson and John Cena?

As of now, both Cena and Dwayne Johnson have left WWE as full-time performers to build a career in acting. While Johnson is already a Hollywood blockbuster actor, Cena is busy climbing up the ladder. Johnson also has multiple business ventures to keep him occupied.

Cena returned a few months ago to WWE, due to the WGA strike but he is back in Hollywood now. Though The Rock is back for his supposed match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, he may too return to Hollywood immediately after his match. So, Sabin and TNA’s hope looks like a distant reality, especially as both wrestlers look to be loyal to WWE, opting to return there to continue any wrestling ambitions.
