Who is Jeffrey Conine?
Jeffrey Conine is one of the most beloved players in Florida Marlins history. Nicknamed “Mr. Marlin,” he was an inaugural member of the franchise when it began in 1993 and was instrumental in bringing the team its first two World Series championships in 1997 and 2003.
Conine spent nine of his 17 major league seasons with the Marlins, earning two All-Star selections and the 1995 All-Star Game MVP award. As the team’s first star player, he provided veteran leadership on the field and quickly became a fan favorite. His clutch hitting and stellar defense in left field made him a key contributor on both Marlins title teams.
Some of Conine’s career highlights with the Marlins include:
