Game Of Thrones: The Movie (2026) Teaser Trailer | Max

The “Game of Thrones” property obviously has a ton of TV shows in the pipeline, but what about the big screen? Fans were thrilled to learn on October 31 that a potential “Game of Thrones” movie adaptation was in the works. The Hollywood Reporter claims that Warner Bros. is covertly working on at least one Westeros-set “Game of Thrones” film.

The project (or projects) are reportedly only very early in development, with no director, writer(s), or cast attached at this time. But THR’s sources imply that the studio is committed to bringing Martin’s universe to the big screen, a change of direction from its previous plans to keep “Thrones” as a series-focused franchise. In addition to “House of the Dragon” and “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” HBO has put into development (and pulled) several “Thrones” series since the parent series’ debut, including “10,000 Ships,” “Bloodmoon,” a Jon Snow–centered series, and other live-action and animated projects.
