After Roman Reigns’ shock win over Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania 39, fans began to turn on The Bloodline saga after The Tribal Chief’s monstrous reign with the WWE Championships.
Fans believed it was the perfect time to pull the trigger on Cody Rhodes and the company wouldn’t get a better chance to do so.
That didn’t end up being the case as Rhodes finished his story a year later and Roman Reigns has revealed he thinks fans were wrong to doubt the storytelling of The Bloodline saga.
Roman Reigns promises three more years of The Bloodline
While there were inconsistencies in The Bloodline storyline after Wrestlemania 39, it’s tended to be one of the most thrilling narratives in the entirety of wrestling.
Reigns has defended the storyline and claimed everything that happens is part of a long-term plan for the family.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Reigns said: “People laughed at us a while back when I don’t know if it was me or Paul mentioned the baseball innings thing.
“There was maybe a year ago or so that we were stretching it, but we’re not at this point. It’s a whole new vision.
“I forget where I was driving today but just kind of visualizing what it could be in the next two years, what could be in the next three years. Blocking these things off just a year chunk at a time.”
The saga has gained an entirely new lease of life as Solo Sikoa has created an off-shoot group and brought Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa into the fray.
Roman Reigns teases WWE match with The Rock
For a long time, a singles match between The Rock and Reigns has been touted as the family members are two of the biggest stars in wrestling.
The match nearly came to fruition last year but was derailed after Rhodes fans created the #WeWantCody movement and forced WWE to pivot toward Reigns vs Rhodes II.
In the same interview with Sports Illustrated, Reigns teased a match between him and his cousin could be incoming.
He said: “So if that’s what the people want, and The People’s Champ is down, I’m sure we can make something happen.”
According to rumors, The Rock is set to face either Rhodes or Reigns at Wrestlemania 41 in Las Vegas.
