Durant joined the Suns after departing the Brookyln Nets on February 9. 2023, in a five-player trade, after spending four years without claiming an NBA championship in New York.

“Woj says somebody else “feels” that I’m frustrated and it turned into me being mentally checked out,” Durant wrote on Instagram. “This sh*t crazy, these people can flat out lie on my name and make sh*t up…

“And you people will believe it but when my teammates n coaches speak on how I am as a teammate, u ignore it lol.”

What did Wojnarowski say?

It comes after Wojnarowski made the comments to ESPN, who he is employed by, declaring that the 35-year-old is the reason why they’ve had to sign “minimum” players and that the Suns’ organization is frustrated with him.

The Suns are currently 11th in the Western Conference with 14 wins from 29 games, giving them a .483 record as they trail the leaders, the Minnesota Timberwolves, by eight games.

“You talk to people in Phoenix and around that organization, they can feel the frustration with Durant,” Wojnarowski said to ESPN’s NBA Countdown show. “Part of that, certainly, is the missed games for Beal.

“This team was built around those three stars. The underwhelming supporting cast that comes from those massive trades for Durant and Bradley Beal really gutted the organization and left them having to sign a lot of minimum players to fill out the payroll.”
