A huge heavyweight title fight happens next month.
Manny Robles, the man who took Andy Ruiz to the world heavyweight title with an upset win over Anthony Joshua, is backing Oleksandr Usyk to defeat Tyson Fury next month.
Robles, a trainer who knows the heavyweight division well, helped shock the world in 2019 when Ruiz became champion, and now he’s picking Usyk to do the same.
Usyk enters the ring a slight underdog, but Robles believes the Ukrainian can get the job done based on Fury’s most recent performance.
Last October, Fury was dropped by Francis Ngannou before escaping with a narrow split decision victory to preserve his unbeaten record.
Robles has looked at that fight, and it make his decision easier when picking a winner.
“Man, you’re only as good as your last fight,” said Robles when speaking to Seconds Out.
“That Tyson performance wasn’t his best to date and then Usyk has been looking better and better, sharper and shaper, so I will have to pick Usyk.”
