Welcome to the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s WWE Roundup, where we bring you the biggest news and rumors from the world of wrestling. Today, we have some big stories involving the likes of Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and others.
Next week’s episode of RAW was taped this Monday, with lots of spoilers going around. We have a rundown of what happened at the tapings as well. So, let’s get right into today’s stories!
#1 CM Punk could be back soon
CM Punk hasn’t been on WWE television since the RAW after his Hell in a Cell Match with Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood. It seemed like he’d be back once Crown Jewel was in the books, but that hasn’t been the case.
However, despite WWE already booking Damian Priest as Gunther’s opponent at Survivor Series, Punk is seemingly set to return for the event. According to WrestleVotes on a live Q&A with Bill Apter on Backstage Pass, The Best in the World is still scheduled for Survivor Series.

It remains to be seen whether CM Punk will wrestle on November 30. Whether or not he has a match, a Punk appearance at Survivor Series would be fitting, one year after his shocking return to WWE.
#2 Cody Rhodes’ status for Survivor Series
While CM Punk might be back in time for Survivor Series, Cody Rhodes is a doubt for the show. According to Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda Wrestling, The American Nightmare was initially planned to be the fifth member of the OG Bloodline in the WarGames Match.
Received some breaking news on my desk from WWE sources that discussions of Cody Rhodes being the 5th person on the babyface Survivor Series team has changed, and "as of now," he does not have a match for Survivor Series. He further reported that Rhodes currently does not have a match at Survivor Series. Of course, that could change as soon as this Friday on SmackDown. The Undisputed WWE Champion may end up facing Kevin Owens after he injured Randy Orton last week.
#3 The Rock may dethrone Cody Rhodes

Speaking of Cody Rhodes, there has been some talk about The Rock potentially dethroning him. When asked about it on the aforementioned Q&A on Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes reported that The Final Boss becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion is possible.
He further noted that The Rock beating Cody has been “on the table” since WrestleMania XL weekend. While a match between the two is likely, it isn’t known whether the Hollywood star will dethrone Rhodes.
