Conor McGregor was up to his old tweet-and-delete tricks on Friday evening.
The former dual-weight UFC champion watched on from home as Jake Paul picked up a unanimous decision win over Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
‘Notorious’ made everyone laugh with his hilarious reaction to Tyson accidentally flashing his ‘fine buttocks’ during a backstage pre-fight interview.
However, the Irishman disappointed many fans with one of his follow up posts.
Conor McGregor’s sick joke badly backfires
Immediately after Jake Paul’s win was confirmed, Conor McGregor took to social media to joke about who the YouTuber-turned-boxer is lining up for his next fight after beating a 58-year-old boxing icon.
However, fans all agreed he went too far in the now-deleted Twitter post.
“They are eyeing Pritchard Colon for next opponent,” McGregor wrote.
Prichard Colon is a former super-welterweight boxer, who suffered a brain bleed during a fight in 2015.
Terrel Williams hit Colon with several illegal punches to the back of the head before he was disqualified in the ninth round of their clash – but that was too late as his opponent had already suffered life-altering injuries.
Colon was helped backstage before collaping in his dressing room. The 32-year-old American subsequently spent 221 days in a coma after undergoing emergency brain surgery.
Unfortunately, Colon has remained in a persistent vegetative state ever since and is unable to talk due to his injuries.
One fan reacted to McGregor’s post by saying: “What a scumbag.”
Another added: “Disrespectful.”
Someone else said: “Lower than a snakes belly.”
A fourth person fumed: “This is crazy, this guy needs to be disciplined.”
Jake Paul hits out at Conor McGregor
Paul has been calling out McGregor ever since he took up boxing in 2018.
For the most part, MMA’s greatest legend has distanced himself from a matchup with ‘The Problem Child’, who has finally accepted that a scrap with McGregor is never going to happen for several reasons.
“Yeah, he’ll never do that though,” Paul said when asked about boxing McGregor during a post-fight press conference.
“He knows. He’s not his own boss. It’s funny to say, ‘Yo, Conor McGregor is scared of Jake Paul and will never box him’ but it’s the f****** truth. Look at him go toe-to-toe with Nate Diaz, who was easy work for me.
“It was like a Monday sparring session to beat Nate Diaz’s a**, so he doesn’t ever want the smoke with me. It won’t ever happen.”
