Rapper Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, once owned a massive compound in Farmington, Connecticut that was previously home to boxer Mike Tyson.
And while the 50,000+ sq. ft. mansion was impressive by all accounts, 50 Cent doesn’t necessarily have the fondest memories of it. Especially since it took him well over a decade to offload the property, and he lost millions in the sale.
Once listed for a whopping $18.5 million, 50 Cent’s house in Connecticut finally sold in April 2019 for $2.9 million — significantly less than the initial ask (84% less, to be more precise).

Fifty lost a considerable amount of money in the sale. He paid $4.1 million in 2003 to buy the Farmington mansion from former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson.
But the sale put an end to a 12-year search for a buyer, as the rapper’s house was first listed back in 2007, resurfacing on the market every now and then with a fresh price. Jennifer Leahy of Douglass Elliman was the one who brokered the sale, wrapping up the property’s long run on the market.

The Farmington home, located about 80 miles north of the affluent city of Greenwich, is far from your average house.
With slightly over 50,000 square feet, the megamansion has an impressive total of 19 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, an indoor pool and hot tub, an indoor court, multiple game rooms, a full gym, a conference room, a home theater, among many other exciting spaces!
It is set on 17 acres and the grounds include a pool, a grotto reminiscent of the Playboy Mansion, a pond, and a basketball court.
And since this was 50 Cent’s house, it’s bound to have its own nightclub. Because where else would Fifty feel at home if not “in da club”?
The rapper also set up his own recording studio on the property and a green screen room for filming.

50 Cent (by his real name, Curtis Jackson) bought the sprawling property for $4.1 million in 2003 from former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson in a record-breaking deal for the area.
That purchase price was, and remains, an anomaly for Hartford County — where the mansion is located — as Farmington is a fairly modestly priced home market.

So you can imagine the shock of an $18 million listing price when Curtis Jackson first brought the property to market.

According to media reports, the sale proceeds were donated to the G-Unity Foundation — an American nonprofit public foundation established by rapper 50 Cent himself along with his group, G-Unit.
The foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations that focus on improving the quality of life for low-income and under-served communities across the United States.
Where does 50 Cent live nowadays?
It’s been quite a few years since Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent sold the Connecticut house he bought from Mike Tyson.
And since then, Fitty has left the East Coast, joining the long list of celebrities who live in Texas.
Sporting an Astros ball cap, the In Da Club rapper announced that he officially moved to Houston, TX on X (formerly Twitter), saying “I Love NY, but I live in Houston now I’ll explain later.”
The move came on the heels of a multi-year partnership the rapper signed with the Houston Astros for his Sire Spirits company and the G-Unity Foundation.
So while we know what prompted Fitty’s move to Texas, we don’t quite know where he settled down. Local sources say he once checked out Houston’s famed Darth Vader House — an architecturally distinct luxury property with exteriors built to resemble Vader’s mask.
We don’t know what house he ended up buying in the area, or whether he’s currently renting a home here. And Texas’s secretive ‘non-disclosure’ laws don’t leave us much room to investigate further and comb property records.
But we’re sure local insiders will pick up on the sale when Fifty does close on a new Texas property — and we’ll make sure to keep you updated.
