Cody Rhodes vs Gunther

The opening minutes are contested between the two competitors, but Gunther manages to tip the balance in his favor little by little. The Austrian uses a “Headlock” to partially subdue his rival, who struggles to stay on his feet. Cody Rhodes reacts by knocking Gunther down with a “Slam” and makes his way to apply a “Cody Cutter”; the count remains at two. The Undisputed WWE Champion tries to maintain control, but Gunther intercepts him when he launches himself with a “Disaster Kick” to catch him with a “Boston Crab”.

Gunther transitions into a Sleeper, but Cody reaches the bottom rope to break the hold. However, The Ring General pulls him away from the ropes to effectively trap him in a Sleeper. Cody Rhodes raises his arm to show signs of life and manages to escape the lock. Gunther doesn’t want to let go of the punishment, but Cody forces him to do so by surprising him with a Cross Rhodes. Cody takes the opportunity to recover after suffering for a considerable period of time instead of making the cover. Gunther drops Cody Rhodes with a drop kick followed by a powerbomb for a two count! Gunther mocks Cody’s physical condition, but Rhodes fights back to propose an exchange of shots in the center of the ring. Cody blocks Gunther’s attempt to react and punish him with a second Cross Rhodes, but it’s not enough to declare victory. “The American Nightmare” is convinced that with one more blow he can win, but Gunther fights back… the Austrian waits for Rhodes to catch him in a sleeper when he launches himself with a Cody Cutter, however, Cody reverses his rival’s own lock to achieve the three count. Cody Rhodes is the FIRST Crown Jewel Champion in history!
