Marvel’s Elektra (2025) – First Trailer | Gal Gadot, Charlie Cox

Gal Gadot, best known for her portrayal as Wonder Woman, will now play the famous Elektra Natchios in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), according to a statement released by Marvel Studios. Elektra, which is slated for release in 2026, will bring the lethal assassin back to the big screen after over 20 years. It will also mark Gadot’s MCU debut, exciting Marvel and DC fans alike.

Directed by Chloe Zhao, who previously helmed Eternals, the Elektra solo film is expected to explore the character’s dark past, Greek roots, and connection to Daredevil. According to insider sources, Marvel’s approach will be gritty and character-driven, leaning more into psychological and action thriller territory than the typical superhero narrative. Zhao’s vision reportedly involves reimagining Elektra as an emotionally complex antiheroine haunted by her tragic family history and violent path. “Gal brings the right balance of strength and vulnerability,” Zhao shared in a recent interview. “She’s the perfect Elektra.”

Marvel’s Elektra will explore the character’s roots, diving into her history with The Hand, a mysterious ancient organization of assassins. Set against a modern urban landscape, the story will follow Elektra as she tries to sever ties with The Hand while facing new threats tied to her past. Inspired by Frank Miller’s The Elektra Saga, the screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo will pull from both classic and modern comic runs, blending mythology with contemporary crime elements. Producer Kevin Feige hinted that Elektra will bring a fresh narrative style, saying, “This story is about redemption and identity, about Elektra finding her place in a world that doesn’t understand her.”
