Avengers: Doomsday’s filming widow is revealed in a thrilling update. After the team’s protracted absence in the Multiverse Saga, a new Avengers film will eventually be released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even though not much has been revealed about the plot of Avengers: Doomsday thus far, the film is well positioned to be one of the MCU’s most anticipated releases. Returning to the franchise, Robert Downey Jr. now portrays Doctor Doom. He will play the primary antagonist in the movie, and since Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to begin production early next year, further information about the plot and the actors should be released soon.
According to Collider, Avengers: Doomsday is going to start filming in Spring 2025. One of the movie’s directors, Joe Russo, also revealed during an interview at New York Comic Con that a start date is already set, though he did not specify when that would be. The film will be the first for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. After Kang the Conqueror star Jonathan Majors was fired, the project was overhauled, abandoning its original title, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and turning to RDJ as Doctor Doom to serve as the film’s biggest draw.
