Beckhams Make Waves with $80M Miami ‘Floating’ Mansion Purchase

David and Victoria Beckham are set to splurge on an $80 million mansion in Miami Beach, according to the architecture firm that designed the home. The sale is currently pending in contract.

The nine-bedroom house on North Bay Road is the newest and most expensive addition to the entrepreneurs’ portfolio that includes properties across the globe: A £31.5 million Victorian townhouse in London, a Burj Khalifa condo in Dubai, as well as a Miami penthouse in the One Thousand Museum tower.

According to The Real Deal, the property was previously sold for $10 million in 2018 to Niklas de la Motte, a Hamptons-based real estate developer. Motte rebuilt the property with Choeff Levy Fischman Architecture and Design to a 14,270 square-foot, two-story home before listing it on the market in 2022 for eightfold what he paid.

With a pool and a waterfall in its entryway, and a central courtyard pool reflecting the towering house, the architects leaned heavily into the property’s nature—124 feet of water frontage.

There’s also a razor-edge infinity pool that cuts to the bay, and “melds cleanly” with its waterfront, according to Choeff Levy Fischman principal, Raphael Levy.

Ipe wood, perlato marble, dark bronze frames and metal accents were used to create a modern, tropical feel.

The reflecting ponds make the “entire house look like it’s floating,” Levy said. “The water appears to continue through the house and into the pool deck, which then continues into the bay.”

Three bedrooms, including the primary suite, offer views of Biscayne Bay, while most rooms in the have a view of the surrounding ponds.

Inside the home is a gym, spa, chef’s kitchen and a movie theater. A rooftop deck, al fresco dining area, outdoor kitchen and floor-to-ceiling windows blend the indoor and outdoor spaces, while sabal palm trees shroud the windows for privacy.

A drive away from the stadium where David Beckham’s team Inter Miami FC plays, the property is said to anchor the pair further in South Florida.

The $80 million property is a standout in the affluent Nautilus neighborhood, with home prices averaging at $3.4 million, according to Redfin data.
