The highly awaited The Shining 2, the follow-up to Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 horror masterpiece, has been formally announced by Warner Bros. Ewan McGregor returns to the character of Danny Torrance, a middle-aged man who is still troubled by his horrific history. Elizabeth Olsen joins the cast as an enigmatic character connected to the sinister secrets of the Overlook Hotel.

Director Mike Flanagan, known for his work on Doctor Sleep, is set to helm the film, promising a chilling exploration of new and old horrors. Fans are eagerly awaiting a return to the haunted halls of the Overlook, with a blend of psychological terror and supernatural thrills that defined the original.
