Her years as a Hollywood bad girl are well behind her, but Angelina Jolie still has a taste for danger it seems.
The 41-year-old actress and her children happily munched on tarantulas and scorpions while sampling the local delicacies during a recent trip to Cambodia.
The 41-year-old actress was in the Southeast Asian country to promote her new film, First They Killed My Father, where she did an exclusive interview with BBC News.
After opening up about her painful split from Brad Pitt, 53, the actress taught the BBC reporter about local cuisine and how to prepare some of the insects that are eaten in the country.

‘I think it’s always been a part of the diet, the bugs,’ she explained. ‘But I think there is a truth to the survival during the war of course.’
She continued with a history lesson: ‘When people were being starved they were able to survive on things like this and they did.’
She was then asked when she first had the bugs and replied she first had then when she first visited the country.
The actress adopted her oldest son Maddox from the Cambodia in 2002.
They all eat it! The mom-of-six cooked the insects alongside Vivienne who was brave enough to pick up the cooked spider
The actress and activist then went on to explain how you acquire a taste for the native cuisine.
‘Crickets, you start with crickets,’ she informed the BBC reporter. ‘Crickets and a beer and then you kind of move up to tarantulas.’
The mom-of-six is clearly making sure her children also have an appreciation for the local food.
Sharing! The actress offered the fruits of her labor to her children, Shiloh (front), Maddox (left), and Pax (middle)
She had her youngest children, twins Vivienne and Knox help her prepare the bugs with Vivienne bravely picking up the spiders and putting them in the bowl.
They were then frying up a bunch of scorpions and putting them in various bowls for both the locals and Angelina’s brood to enjoy.
Daughter Shiloh took a hot spider from the bowl of various insects and chomped down on the crunchy body.
Yummy? Shiloh tried a spider her mother made as she was asked if it was too hot to eat
The camera then panned up to Angelina doing the same thing as she clearly enjoyed the crispy tentacles.
‘It’s actually really good, the flavor,’ she explained after testing out her cooking.
Angelina seemed to be enjoying her time with her children, but took some time to reflect on her tough year and the ‘difficult’ breakup of her marriage to Brad Pitt as well as the effect it has had on their six children.
‘I don’t want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time and we are a family, and we will always be a family,’ she said, visibly emotional.
Emotional interview: Angelina spoke out publicly for the first time about her split from Brad Pitt telling the BBC: ‘It was a very difficult time…. and we will always be a family’
‘It was very difficult,’ the actress, 41, added. ‘Many people find themselves in this situation. My whole family have all been through a difficult time.’
A bitter custody battle initially played out in the media after Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt last September and sought full custody of their children following an alleged incident on board a private jet as the family returned to Los Angeles from France.
But the celebrity couple eventually reached an agreement in early January to seal the custody documents as they endeavor to resolve their issues and reach a divorce settlement.
‘My focus is my children, our children,’ she explained to the BBC.
‘We are and forever will be a family and so that is how I am coping. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer,’ she said.
