Taylor Swift goes punk in plaid corset outfit on 2024 VMAs red carpet

VMAs? More like VM-Tays.

Taylor Swift went full punk on the VMAs 2024 red carpet Wednesday, wearing a plaid taffeta bustier and sweeping skirt fresh off of Dior’s 2025 resort collection runway.

In addition to her 30-carat Lorraine Schwarz canary yellow diamond earrings set in black jade, the “Anti-Hero” hitmaker added extra edge with black velvet hot pants, strappy leather opera gloves and a matching checkered choker.

She completed the show-stopping ensemble with a pair of thigh-high buckled Stuart Weitzman boots ($1,232) — one of her longtime style staples both on and off the red carpet.

And in addition to drawing the cat eye sharp, she topped off her signature winged liner with smoky eyeshadow — though she swapped her signature red lipstick for a more neutral shade.

Swift leads this year’s VMA nominations with a total of 12 nods. She’s up for video of the year, song of the year, best collaboration, best direction, best cinematography, best editing, best visual effects, best art direction and song of the summer — all for “Fortnight,” which features Post Malone — plus most iconic performance (for her 2009 staging of “You Belong With Me”), artist of the year and best pop.

She’s already the video of the year category’s most awarded artist, having won four times — for “Bad Blood” in 2015, “You Need to Calm Down” in 2019, “All Too Well: The Short Film” in 2022 and “Anti-Hero” in 2023.

And she never fails to top the best-dressed list with her looks for MTV’s annual awards show; in 2022, she showed up in a dazzling crystal-draped minidress by Oscar de la Renta, while last year she wowed in a “Reputation”-coded black Atelier Versace gown.

Her sartorial selections for this year’s ceremony also feature several hallmarks of her “Reputation” era, which saw the “Midnights” singer embrace plaid oversized flannels and thigh-high heels.
