Wilson missed much of training camp with calf tightness, and re-aggravated the injury heading into Week 1’s matchup. Mike Tomlin stated on Thursday that the injury didn’t affect the Steelers gameplan, but recent reports have suggested that it will be Justin Fields making the start against Atlanta.
If Wilson isn’t 100% but can still start, the Steelers will still have a decision to make. The team’s offensive line has struggled this preseason, meaning starting a veteran quarterback with a lower body injury is questionable at best.
If Russell Wilson doesn’t play on Sunday, it’ll be Justin Fields seeing the start in Atlanta for the black and gold.
