Daniel Dubois celebrates 27th birthday by punching cake decorated with Anthony Joshua’s face

Daniel Dubois has turned 27 but he hasn’t overly indulged.

The IBF heavyweight champion is deep in camp preparing to defend his recently acquired belt against Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium on September 21.

On Friday, Dubois headed to the gym and found his team of coaches waiting for him with a birthday cake, which was decorated with the face of his next opponent.

Everyone sang ‘Happy Birthday’ before ‘DDD’ shut down the celebration.

“Stop the music,” he said.

Dubois then cracked the cake with one of his famous right-hand punches.

It smashed to pieces before he looked at the camera with a huge grin.

“This is business,” Dubois insisted.

Coach Don Charles, who was holding the cake, playfully fumed: “Be nice! It’s your birthday!”

Dubois walked away from the camera but you could see him chuckling away.

‘Dynamite’ is considered the underdog in the contest but will be looking to land a damaging blow to his domestic rival’s hopes of becoming a three-time champion.

After falling short in a previous world title fight against Oleksandr Usyk, Dubois picked up a career-best win over Filip Hrgovic, who he stopped in eight rounds this June.

The 21-2 fighter believes he’ll go one better by beating Joshua in a couple of weeks’ time.

“I can’t wait it is all written in the stars for me and I have to hold on to my belt,” Dubois told talkSPORT on Hawskbee & Jacobs.

“I want to put on a show that no one will forget. I am just staying in my lane at the moment.

“I’m just sharpening up my tools, I need to hold on to my belt. On the night I’m just ready to fight and go to war.

“I just believe it is my time now, it is all on the line for me and it is time to shine.

“It is my time to steal the show and reign for a long time. I’m ready to fight on the night, and ready to hear that first bell.”
