Jonah Hill, star of “Moneyball,” has been the subject of considerable public conjecture regarding his decreasing waist size. However, the Hollywood A-lister is now reducing something entirely different: the cost of his peculiar Malibu, California, property.
Six weeks after listing his four-bedroom oceanfront home for $16.7 million, the 40-year-old comedian and actor took a nice $750,000 off the asking price.
The 3,100-square-foot, ancient home with breathtaking views of the coastline is now listed for a (still high) $15.9 million; however, it is unclear if the significant reduction will aid Hill in selling the property.
Certainly the home boasts plenty of charm, particularly for those with a hankering for waterfront living.
Don’t be fooled by the property’s unassuming front exterior, which gives little away about the colorful oasis that awaits behind the front doors.
Charm and history mingle beautifully here, for a waterside retreat that’s comfy yet refined. Tucked behind guarded gates as part of Malibu Colony, the home’s entry is also partially obscured by some lush greenery.
High ceilings, a curved fireplace, and bright white walls dominate the living area, but color makes a bold appearance thanks to canary yellow paint in the sunroom and kitchen. Whimsical tiles (peppers, bananas, a strawberry!) dot the stove hood and backsplash, and there’s a convenient pantry, too.
There’s a small den with a Dutch door that allows salty air to breeze in. Meanwhile, a secondary living room with a baby blue ceiling is situated nearby. There are two main-level bedrooms, and the primary suite is upstairs, complete with a pitched ceiling, big closet, and a private deck that overlooks the ocean.
Other amenities include a home movie theater with a projector, screen, and surround sound. But the property’s most coveted feature is its direct beach access, just steps from the door. After a quick swim or surf, the sauna, outdoor cedar tub, and deck are the perfect spots to retreat
For Hill, who is well-known for being an avid surfer and is frequently spotted surfing in the Malibu area, the house was the perfect getaway.
The actor gained notoriety for his performance in the 2007 film “Superbad,” although he has also been in films like “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” He most recently starred alongside Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, and Leonardo DiCaprio in the film “Don’t Look Up.”
He also hails from a gifted family; his sister Beanie Feldstein is a successful actress who has appeared in Broadway productions of “Booksmart” and “Ladybird” and is a superb vocalist.
Hill’s latest real estate sale comes two years after he put another sprawling Malibu property up for sale—a contemporary mansion that he listed for $14.9 million back in 2022.
