Grayson Waller surprises Cody Rhodes with a Flatliner after Austin Theory trips the WWE Champion, but it’s not enough to win the match. Theory tags in and maintains control over Rhodes; Austin makes Cody suffer almost in Kevin’s face, who rallys the WWE Universe to cheer his partner on. Cody manages to escape his rival’s hold to surprise Theory with a Cody Cutter. Rhodes tries to get to his corner for help, but finds no one as Owens gets down to avoid an attack from Waller.

Theory re-establishes his dominance over Rhodes and tags in. Cody knocks A-Town Down Under out of the ring and finally tags in. Kevin Owens comes out of the ring to knock Waller & Theory to the ground and then punishes them with a “Senton.” Owens finishes Theory with a “Swanton” from the apron and re-enters the ring with a “Cannonball” on Waller. Kevin’s “Swanton Bomb” on Grayson, but Theory appears to save his partner! “Cross Rhodes” on Austin Theory to take him out of the scene! Waller avoids a “Stunner” but ends up receiving a “Pop-up Powerbomb” from Owens to end the match. | »Winners: Cody Rhodes & Kevin Owens.

After the match, the WWE Universe is shocked as Kevin Owens quickly approaches to hand the WWE Championship into Cody Rhodes’ hands . It looked like he was going to attack him, but Owens simply got excited to continue confronting A-Town Down Under as they made their retreat. That’s how this episode of WWE SmackDown ends.
