‘We are the champions’ – Conor McGregor celebrates ‘dream win’ for business empire as he awaits new UFC comeback date

Conor McGregor’s MMA career may have come to a standstill, but he continues to succeed in every other area of his life.

The former dual-weight UFC champion is currently celebrating a ‘dream win’ for his business empire after The Black Forged Inn was recently recognised for its outstanding food.

Celebrities travel from all over the world to try McGregor grub, and now it’s been named Ireland’s best at the annual Bar of the Year awards.

‘Notorious’ celebrated the victory by sharing several pictures of his team at the event, with a caption thanking them and his customers for making dream a reality.

He wrote on Instagram: “YES!!! Our The Black Forge Inn has just won GOLD for best food at the Bar of the Year awards!

“I am so beyond incredibly proud of our culinary team and the entire team who are all instrumental in making this dream win a reality for us!

“Thank you all and enjoy the celebrations and thank you so much our loyal patrons who visit from all over the world to see what we are about!

“We love you all! THE BLACK FORGE FOREVER!”

On Tuesday, McGregor used his Instagram story to reminisce about when he first came up with the idea to serve food at his pub.

‘Notorious’ says his plan was initially met with scepticism, but he persevered and is now reaping the rewards.

The UFC legend advised his 47..5 million followers to chase their dreams like he did.

“‘Food in the Forge?’ What was said to me in shock/almost disbelief when I began this project,” McGregor wrote.

“In fairness it was valid. There was never food here. Now today however, we are the champions of food in Ireland. Follow your dreams.”

McGregor’s big win will temporarily distract him from his faltering MMA career.

The 36-year-old hasn’t fought since breaking his leg during a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, even though he’s been fully fit for quite some time.

McGregor was supposed to make his highly anticipated comeback in a welterweight fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29.

A pinky toe injury forced him out of the bout, and now UFC boss Dana White is saying that his biggest star is unlikely to return to the Octagon before 2025.

That doesn’t suit McGregor.

The Irishman wants to face Chandler at UFC 310 in December, and his American opponent has publicly agreed to meet him at the end of the year.

MMA fans are impatiently waiting for an official update on McGregor’s comeback.
