With Bret Baier having recently upgraded to a new $37 million mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, the chief political anchor of Fox News Channel is putting his expansive Washington, D.C., estate back on the market for just under $32 million. This price is notably $32.5 million more than what Baier and his wife Amy originally paid for the 1.5-acre property in September 2018. They subsequently invested about $25 million over three years to rebuild and renovate the home with developer Michael Banks and architect David Jones.

If sold at the asking price, the property would set a new record for Washington, D.C., surpassing the previous high of $24.5 million set in 2007 for a circa-1810 mansion. Completed in April 2022 and inspired by France’s Hotel Chateau du Grand-Lucé, the estate features a stately limestone and mansard-roof design with five bedrooms and nine bathrooms across 16,250 square feet of Thomas Pheasant-designed living space.
The window-lined family room.
The home boasts a gated driveway leading to a cobblestone motor court with a marble fountain and two three-car garages. The main level includes a grand foyer with a decorative Nero Marquina marble floor and a floating staircase. The fireside living room includes a temperature-controlled wine display and wet bar, with French doors opening to a terrace. The formal dining room features another fireplace and a custom wood-and-glass table for 14. The gourmet kitchen is equipped with top-tier Miele, Wolf, and Sub-Zero appliances, and connects to a glass-lined family room with a breakfast nook.
The movie theater.
The master suite offers a fireplace, sitting area, expansive balcony, dual walk-in closets, and luxurious bathrooms. Additional en-suite bedrooms are located on the third floor and lower level, which also includes a wet bar-equipped lounge, game room with a golf simulator, movie theater, gym, sauna, and a two-story indoor basketball court. Outdoors, the grounds designed by landscape architect Richard Arentz feature a 56-foot pool and spa, chipping and putting green, and multiple spaces for al fresco entertaining. The estate is equipped with a whole-home 72-kilowatt generator and eight geothermal wells providing 20 tons of cooling capacity.
An office space.
Baier, who frequently visited Florida during the COVID-19 pandemic and decided to move there full-time this past summer, will continue commuting weekly to Washington for his live shows and is seeking a smaller property in the city. He also owns a second Palm Beach home, purchased for $12 million from fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger in 2022.
