Fernando Alonso is the oldest driver on the current Formula One grid. He has been racing in the sport since 1999 and in F1 since 2001.

In his long career, the Spaniard has won two world championships, in 2005 and 2006, and 32 Grand Prix, cementing himself as one of the best drivers in the sport.

Alonso’s fame and success have also earned him a lot of money, which he has spent lavishly. Here is a list of five expensive assets he owns.

#1 Apartment in Dubai

Most F1 drivers have various properties to their name in several countries across the globe. This is partially because they travel throughout an F1 season, but also to enjoy different cultures and environments.

Fernando Alonso owns a lavish apartment in the 52-storey Le Reve in Dubai. Like other celebrities in the world, it is a get-away home for the Spaniard, in one of the most luxurious cities of the Middle East. An apartment in Le Reve is also owned by 20-time Grand Slam winner, Roger Federer.

#2 Dassault Falcon 900

A driver needs to travel to various countries in a year during a full F1 season. The same applies to Alonso. Hence, several racers including the Spaniard have their very own private jets to make traveling a breeze.

The Aston Martin driver owns a Dassault Falcon 900C trijet, which costs around $12,000,000. The expensive machine is powered by three Honeywell TFE731-40 turbofan engines, each providing 16.5kN of thrust.

#3 Aston Martin Valkyrie

After Alonso joined the Aston Martin F1 team, he planned to add another expensive four-wheeler machine made by the company, the Aston Martin Valkyrie. The car has a 6.2 liter V12 engine and an electric motor pushing out a total of 1000 bhp.

Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin worked together a few years ago to create the Aston Martin Valkyrie. Adrian Newey, the chief technological officer of Red Bull, gave life to the beast in 2017. Notably, before departing the Austrian team, Newey is developing the RB17 supercar.

#4 Richard Mille RM47 Tourbillon

Back in 2022, Fernando Alonso collaborated with luxury watch brand Richard Mille to create the RM47 Tourbillon. A masterpiece inspired by traditional Japanese samurai culture, he owns one of 75 pieces made by Richard Mille. It costs somewhere around $1,040,000.

The watch has a black and golden color scheme with an intricately detailed face and hands.

#5 McLaren P1

During his second stint at McLaren between 2015 and 2019, Alonso bought the British company’s flagship hypercar, the McLaren P1. The beast costs around $1,000,000 today and boasts a 3.8 liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine with an electric motor. This setup can produce around 903 bhp and 900 Nm of torque.

Back in 2017, Alonso was asked by F1.com which road-legal car he would pick for the rest of his life. His answer was the McLaren P1.
