It’s Scarlett Johansson, but not as we know her.
The 27-year-old is hard at work on Under the Skin; the hotly anticipated new film from Sexy Beast auteur, Jonathan Glazer, in wintry Scotland.
On Tuesday, she was stalking the streets of that great Scottish city wearing a fur coat, and tight, tight jeans… looking typically femme fatale for Scarlett, bar the black hair.
Who’s that girl? Scarlett Johansson looked almost unrecognisable as she filmed scenes for Under the Skin in Glasgow on Tuesday
But her character in the film is an actual man eater, as in an alien who harvests body parts.
Glazer – who rose to fame with his revolutionary work on Radiohead’s Street Spirit music video and Jamiroquai’s Multi-MTV award-winning video for Virtual Insanity – is obviously exploring Scotland with his latest project as Scarlett’s character roams around the country, seducing men and harvesting their body parts.
FilmNation, which is producing the film, released a statement saying that Scarlett will play ‘an alien on Earth, disguised as the perfect aesthetic form of a mesmerizing woman’.
It continued: ‘She scours remote highways and desolate scenery looking to use her greatest weapon to snare human prey – her voracious 𝑠e𝑥uality.’
The movie is based on Michel Faber’s novel of the same name.

And she’s away: The fall needed to be filming in several different takes
The movie is based on Michel Faber’s novel of the same name.
Scarlett, who recently split with boyfriend Nate Naylor, said: ‘It’s so weird, I’ve never been in a movie where the logline of the movie, where the plot has been so twisted. It’s crazy. ‘Are you eating people on the side of the road?’ I’m like, ‘No, no!’,” she said in a recent interview with Variety.
She then added: ‘OK, yes I do play an alien who is wearing my own skin. But it’s actually not a science-fiction film; it’s sort of a film that asks existential questions and much more complex than the logline.’
Doing her own stunt: Scarlett gamely performed her own feat

Time for a close up: The cameras close in on Scarlett, still looking gorgeous despite being splattered on the pavement
The FilmNation synopsis suggests the alien has an about turn eventually, they write: ‘[The alien] is deadly efficient, but over time it becomes intrigued by emotions it never knew existed. Drawn to our humanity, ‘it’ slowly becomes ‘she.’ As her empathy grows, her resolve weakens and she goes ‘off mission,’ setting herself on a collision course with her own kind.’
The Lost In Translation star met her ex-boyfriend Nate in January – after splitting up with 52-year-old actor Sean Penn – and the romance progressed quickly.
But last month she was pictured cuddling up to and holding hands with her ex-boyfriend, actor Jared Leto, 40, during a speech at a political rally in North Carolina.
Just what she wanted: Men flock to the pretty extra-terrestrial’s aid
Dangerous beauty: Scarlett’s character will kill her lovers for their organs
At the time she insisted they were just good friends and her representatives adamantly denied that she and Nate had split, saying: ‘Scarlett is still dating Nate. This is very innocent. Scarlett and Jared have remained friends, nothing more, nothing less.’
But just a few weeks later Nate – who is a dead ringer for Don Draper from the TV series Mad Men and who has posted hundreds of violent and 𝑠e𝑥ually charged bondage photographs on his personal website – has moved all of his belongings out of her flat and the relationship is over.
‘They never officially lived together, but Nate has moved all of his stuff out and back into his apartment,’ says a source. ‘The relationship is over. It has not been amicable.’
