Budding Director Angelina Jolie Sees the Humor in the Rigors of Filmmaking.

She’s got a reputation for getting together with her leading men – but Brad Pitt should have no worries now his partner Angelina Jolie has turned director.

Angelina – who got together with Brad after acting alongside him in Mr And Mrs Smith – is currently filming her first feature in Budapest.

The movie – which was also written by the Changeling star – is as yet untitled and tells the Romeo and Juliette-style story of a Serbian man and Bosnian woman who meet on the eve of the 1992-95 Bosnian war.

Jolie, who played an action heroine in her last screen outing Salt, has said of the £10million movie: ‘There are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters, and that will be revealed once the film is released…

‘My hope is that people will hold judgment until they have seen the film.’

It’s thought that Sarajevo-born Kostic is to play the male romantic lead, with his love interest played by fellow Bosnian Zana Marjanovic.

The film caused controversy when Bosnia and Herzegovina initially banned the star, 35, from filming there.

However, last month the government did a u-turn and granted Angelina a permit, though she’d already decided to shoot instead in Hungary.

Brad, 46, and their children are currently in New York where the Inglourious Basterds star took the eldest boys Maddox, nine, and Pax, six, to the premiere of his latest movie Megamind last night.

Angelina, who met first husband Johnny Lee Miller when she co-starred with him in Hackers and second husband Billy Bob Thornton on the set of Pushing Tin, will be returning behind the camera for her next projects however.

They include a Tim Burton version of Sleeping Beauty, as well as thriller The Tourist with Johnny Depp as co-star.
