Drew McIntyre remains suspended and rules out the possibility of facing CM Punk

Adam Pearce attempted to negotiate with Drew McIntyre during WWE RAW (July 15, 2024), but his efforts were in vain and the possibility of seeing the Scotsman face CM Punk one-on-one during SummerSlam is fading.

Dam Pearce lifted Drew McIntyre ‘s suspension to have him return on WWE RAW (July 15, 2024) after the Scotsman received the sanction for hitting the General Manager during the WWE Money In The Bank 2024 post-show.

The reason Pearce allowed McIntyre to return was because he promised CM Punk that he would try to talk to him about negotiating a match that would end the conflicts between the two, since the rivalry had escalated to a very personal level. Pearce promised to take care of Drew, while the Chicago native would focus on getting medically cleared to return to competition, although that could be prevented due to the threat that Seth Rollins made to Punk .

Adam Pearce upholds Drew McIntyre’s suspension

Adam Pearce introduced Drew McIntyre to tell him straight up that CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre could be special. The GM confessed that he wanted that match, as did the WWE Universe, and as did CM Punk, who stayed home to get medically cleared. The only question was if the Scot wanted that match. The GM reiterated that this match could be something special, but they needed to stop being irrational and behave like professionals to start doing business.

Drew McIntyre confessed that the only opinion that counts is that of the WWE Universe, so he would give them a match against CM Punk at SummerSlam. The Scotsman confessed that he was ready to make the match official. Adam Pearce wanted McIntyre to do something for him before making the match and called the referees he hit at WWE Money In The Bank 2024 so that Drew could apologize to them. Pearce felt that he should apologize because they risked their physicality, as they always do, when they tried to stop McIntyre and got hurt. Drew refused at first because he thought that Adam now just wanted to humiliate them, but the General Manager felt it was necessary for him to do so to show respect to the referees.

However, McIntyre refused to apologize because the refs have done nothing but hurt him. And Adam Pearce, who did nothing when CM Punk screwed him over. Adam Pearce deserved that elbow and he’s the one who should be on his knees apologizing to Drew McIntyre! The Scotsman wants CM Punk’s head on a spear because everyone is butting into his business. Adam Pearce stops McIntyre’s euphoria by telling him that if he doesn’t apologize, he’ll keep his suspension. Drew McIntyre knocks the refs down again and confronts Pearce!

SETH ROLLINS APPEARS! “The Visionary” quickly entered to attack Drew McIntyre and made him leave the ring. The Scotsman avoided a “Stomp”, and then contemplated the whole situation. Security elements came out to escort McIntyre because his suspension was maintained and he could not remain in the venue. Drew left upset and Seth Rollins remained celebrating with the WWE Universe on WWE RAW ( July 15, 2024 ).
