Conor McGregor celebrates 36th birthday on yacht as Argentina add another million to his fortune

Conor McGregor appeared to have the perfect day as he celebrated turning 36.

The former dual-weight UFC champion spent his birthday on a yacht in Ibiza with his family before making millions from football bets he’d placed a few weeks ago.

McGregor boldly predicted Spain would go all the way at Euro 2024.

Ahead of the tournament’s opening game, ‘Notorious’ revealed he’d placed a five-figure bet on Spain to lift the trophy at 11/1.

On Sunday, they did just that as goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal fired them to glory, despite Cole Palmer’s stunning equaliser, to ensure England’s long wait for a trophy continued.

McGregor tweeted after the game: “Another €1m [£840,000] into the kit! Spain WIN THE EUROS! €1million won on my birthday!”

The MMA legend’s day was about to get even better as he’d placed another large sum of money on Argentina to defend the Copa America title and win a third consecutive tournament.A €365,000 [£306k] wager on Lionel Messi’s side had a similar return to his Spain bet but would pay just slightly more.Things weren’t looking good for McGregor after 64 minutes as Argentina’s talisman and captain exited the game against Colombia with a non-contact injury to his ankle.

Cameras showed the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner sobbing on the sidelines and nursing a badly swollen right ankle.

Ultimately, he wasn’t needed as super-sub Lautaro Martinez scored in extra time to secure a 1-0 win for La Albiceleste and cement a record 16th Copa America title.

McGregor is yet to react to adding another million to his £200m net worth.

The Irishman began the week by sharing an extremely revealing picture of him on his yacht stretching in budgie smugglers that left little to the imagination.

“Triocha se [36] I got all day,” he captioned his Instagram story post.

McGregor will soon get back to making money the way he usually does.

An injury has kept him sidelined since July 2021, but he’s booked to face Michael Chandler in a comeback bout, and it’s expected to take place later this year.

Originally, they were supposed to meet at UFC 303 on June 29, but a broken pinky toe meant that McGregor had to withdraw from the event.

UFC CEO Dana White is expected to announce a new date for McGregor vs Chandler very soon.
