In a since-deleted X post, Conor McGregor took aim at his greatest rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Irishman took to the social media platform to respond to an old post made by the unbeaten Dagestani back in 2018 after their UFC 229 encounter. Nurmagomedov handed McGregor a crushing loss at the event.

Unfortunately, the win was marred by an infamous post-fight brawl involving McGregor’s corner and Nurmagomedov’s entourage. The UFC considered terminating the contract of one of ‘The Eagle’s’ teammates, prompting Nurmagomedov himself to threaten parting ways with the promotion in solidarity.

McGregor, however, found this humorous, issuing a recent reply, accusing Nurmagomedov of fleeing Russia and allegedly abandoning his family.

“Fast forward he has since abandoned, betrayed, and fled Russia entirely. Leaving his children and mother and wife/cousin behind.”

Despite the pair’s only fight having taken place in 2018, ‘The Notorious’ has not allowed their feud to die down, taking every opportunity to insult and discredit Nurmagomedov. He recently poked fun at ‘The Eagle’s’ reported tax-related issues with the Russian government.

McGregor’s antics led to a warning from Ali Abdelaziz, who is the Dagestani’s manager and someone with whom the Irishman has his own issues. Naturally, the threat did nothing to dissuade ‘The Notorious’, who continues to take aim at Nurmagomedov at every turn.

In fact, McGregor seemed to be briefly convinced that Nurmagomedov would return to the UFC in pursuit of a massive payday to deal with his alleged tax-related issues. However, his much-desired rematch with Nurmagomedov is as unlikely now as it was when ‘The Eagle’ first retired.

This isn’t the first time that Conor McGregor has spoken about Khabib Nurmagomedov’s family

Conor McGregor has attacked Khabib Nurmagomedov’s personal life numerous times. He previously mocked the death of Nurmagomedov’s father due to COVID-19, drawing widespread condemnation from the MMA world. He also insulted Nurmagomedov’s wife.

‘The Notorious’ shared a picture of Nurmagomedov’s wedding, where ‘The Eagle’ sat next to his veiled wife. McGregor took the opportunity to insult his rival by describing his wife as a towel, before doubling down and claiming that Nurmagomedov was hiding a goat behind the veil.
