Man United’s Jadon Sancho issue is exposed by Juventus, and Erik ten Hag is “close” to achieving the ideal result.

Manchester United’s summer transfer window is starting to take shape with a number of deals for signings and departures nearing their conclusion.

On Tuesday, United made significant progress in their attempts to sign defenders Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt. The Reds had an offer accepted by Lille for Yoro while an agreement on personal terms was reached with De Ligt.

However, in our latest look at the United headlines, an issue looks to have been highlighted in the Reds’ strategy to sell Jadon Sancho this summer. The Englishman is free to leave Old Trafford permanently this summer after a public fallout with Erik ten Hag in September 2023.

Juventus confident of United’s Sancho stance

According to Calciomercato, Juventus are confident they will be able to sign Sancho on loan this summer. United want £40m for the winger but the Turin club are thought to be optimistic the Reds will cave and agree to a temporary switch before the window closes.

What MEN Sport says: Juve look as though they have read the situation regarding Sancho’s future expertly this summer. Now Ten Hag is staying at Old Trafford, there is little chance the winger will be allowed to stay.

United’s asking price is ultimately too high for a player everyone knows is not wanted by his club. This is a real issue for Ineos because they are in a particularly weak negotiating position. Juventus are right. If push comes to shove, United are allowing Sancho to leave on loan.

Zirkzee deal ‘close’

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, United are now really close to completing their deal for Joshua Zirkzee. MEN Sport understands negotiations have been progressing well with the Bologna striker and Romano has added that there are no hold-ups.

United are expected to agree a contract with an expiry date of 2029 with the 23-year-old.

What MEN Sport says: This is the perfect scenario for Ten Hag as we edge closer to the pre-season tour. United are in desperate need of support for Rasmus Hojlund up top and it appears the Reds are going to get their first choice quickly. This will allow United to move on now and start targeting other key areas of their squad.
