A fan version of the film using the original cast can be seen in an edited trailer for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. There has been a lot of interest in seeing the Golden Trio of the Harry Potter film series—Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint—return to the big screen ever since the wildly successful film series concluded in 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. A Jack Thorne theatrical drama called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child could be adapted for the big screen.

Written by Thorne, with a story by J.K. Rowling and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child takes place 19 years after the main events of Deathly Hallows. The story starts at the same time as the Deathly Hallows epilogue when Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione proudly watch their children leave for Hogwarts at King’s Cross station. At this time, Harry is the Head of Magical Law Enforcement, Hermione is the Minister for Magic, and Ron manages Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley.
