There will be much more than the World Heavyweight Title on the line when Damian Priest and Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins collide at WWE Money in the Bank next month.
In his first appearance since WrestleMania 40, Rollins returned to programming on the June 17, edition of WWE Monday Night Raw. Rollins wasted little time in announcing his plans to challenge Priest at the WWE Money in the Bank event. Priest would later accept the match which has been made official for the July 6, show.
The Stakes Have Been Raised
The two once again met on the June 24, Raw and Priest vowed that Rollins would never regain the title as long as he held the gold. Rollins fired back, claiming Priest would not be champion without Judgment Day and CM Punk. The Second City Savior played a crucial role in Priest’s title victory at WrestleMania as well as Priest’s defense against Drew McIntyre at WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland.
The segment saw Rollins offer Priest a huge ultimatum, saying that if the champion retains, Rollins would never get a shot at the title again. If Rollins wins though, Priest will be forced to leave The Judgment Day. Priest accepted the stipulation, declaring that The Judgment Day “needs me a hell of a lot more than Damian Priest needs them.”
GUNTHER Arrives
As the champion and his challenger faced off, GUNTHER arrived and was immensely confident in his chances of winning the title. The 2024 King of the Ring said he was excited to see their match, but it’d all be for naught. GUNTHER vowed that he’ll be the World Heavyweight Champion come SummerSlam 2024, as his KOTR win guaranteed him a title shot at the August 3, PLE.
