Leandro Barbosa, a Brazilian basketball player, averaged 5.2 points per game across six games in the 2015 NBA Finals, helping the Golden State Warriors win the championship. Since then, the 6’3′′ b-ball player and his expanding family have made Florida their home. A little over a year ago, they purchased a brand-new, custom-built home in the Orlando region, which is currently for sale at $3.2 million while Barbosa continues to serve as an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings.
Located in the gated neighborhood of Bella Collina in Montverde, this transitional-modern residence boasts 5,056 square feet of living space with six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a powder room. The interior fittings and finishes are inspired by Brazilian design. With all of the furniture, artwork, and upscale light fixtures that go well with its sleek, contemporary design, the house is provided turnkey. Notably high ceilings—tall enough for Barbosa and the six-foot giants in your own friend group—are there.
The home’s exterior comprises stucco walls and gable roofing, with its tall, tower-like entrance being its most distinctive feature. Inside the foyer, white marble floors and custom wooden accents speak to the most frequently used materials throughout the home, while the expansive, great room has a lounge oriented toward a TV at one end and a sculptural kitchen at the other, with a spacious dining area in between. A bank of glass sliders provides unobstructed views and a direct link to the backyard.
The light hue of the exposed wood beams that hover over the space matches the wood used for the kitchen cabinetry. A gas range, convection ovens, a Sub-Zero fridge, and an island snack bar complete the gourmet package. The nearby family has a linear fireplace that is flanked by built-in wine display cabinets. Sliding glass doors open to an expansive covered patio with a summer kitchen.
Light-filled and airy, the main suite features floor to ceiling windows framing views of the garden and a soaring ceiling. The spacious en suite bathroom with its steam shower and freestanding soaking tub, situated in a special alcove beneath a large picture window, is accessible through the smooth wood floors.
Features like the half-court basketball court with Barbosa’s initials and the heated pool were custom-built for him in the backyard. Four of your much-desired whips are accommodated in each of the two two-car garages. The listing is owned by Corcoran’s Danilo Tavares.
