Carl Froch has tried to settle the boxing vs MMA street fight debate.
The former super middleweight boxing champion used the sport’s biggest pound-for-pound star, Canelo Alvarez, and UFC legend Conor McGregor to make his point.

‘Notorious’ is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, who has been training in wrestling since he was a teenager and has knocked out many people with his kicks.
Still, Froch thinks one big punch is all Canelo needs to beat him.
He said on his YouTube channel: “You always think a street fight is going to be favourable to the MMA fighter but I’m not so sure. I think the boxer would do the business on the street.
“I mean, if Conor McGregor gets a good kick in and takes Canelo to the ground, you’d think he’d have the grapple [advantage].
“But I saw Savannah Marshall on the floor having a grapple and she did well. So, that shows you boxers can survive in the cage.
“I think Canelo Alvarez is too big, too strong, he’ll catch McGregor.
“It’s a close one on the street. They are not going to be fighting on the street anytime soon, but I’m going to pick the boxer over the MMA star Conor McGregor.”
‘The Cobra’ insists he’s not oblivious to McGregor’s advantages in the fight but believes they could be overcome due to the no-holds-barred nature of the matchup.

Froch added: “It’s a close fight and if Conor McGregor gets him to the ground, he might just choke him out and get him tapping.
“But in a street fight, anything goes. If someone is trying to choke you out, you can take a little chunk out of that arm — a little thumb in the eye or a little squeeze of the old gonads.
“Anything goes on the streets and it negates a lot of the MMA stuff.
“If Canelo lands a big right hand, left hand or an uppercut, it’s lights out for Conor McGregor.”
